Formerly the Mark Houston Recovery program, Benchmark Recovery was initially designed as a program for those people who had done treatment before. Recommending an evidenced-based 90 day program, Benchmark uses a peer-support model, that allows the addict or alcoholic to learn from the peers that came before them, in addition to the staff. Staff meet daily and discuss clients. Personally and professionally, I think Benchmark exhibits the level of professionalism that chemical dependency programs should strive for and I also think it may be the type of treatment that certain addicts need the first time they attend treatment in order to have a greater chance of success.
